Oprah Winfrey (born Orpah Gail Winfrey; January 29, 1954) is an American media proprietor, talk show host, actress, producer, and philanthropist.
She was the first black female news anchor at Nashville’s WLAC-TV in the early 1970s. 10 years later, she became the host of The Oprah Winfrey Show. She overcame prejudice despite the fact that the producers didn’t want her to show on TV.
She was born with the knack of talking That is why the local church where she spent most of her toddler years called her ‘The Preacher’.
She grew up poor, was molested by her relatives and her mother’s friends, and gave birth to a child who died in infancy at the age of 14 but all of these couldn’t stop her from becoming who she is today.
Oprah is also known for helping people. Aside from her Oprah’s Angel Work charity, she also gives most of her profit to philanthropic causes in the United States.
