Throughout the ages, men have been trying to master the art of impressing women. Well, using the word art doesn’t do justice I would say. What have we men not used to date women? From deriving theories which would even put great scientists in awe to spending money like some business tycoon most of us have tried it all. Unfortunately everyone of us is not so successful in dating women. What is more alarming is that many of us do not even realise where we are going wrong. Here are some of the important points which you should keep in mind while dating women.
1. Have a proper appearance
Be well dressed while you are on a date.
We guys have a tendency to always wear the clothes in which we are comfortable in. This is a healthy practice but do think rationally before going on a date. Even if you feel comfortable how can you expect someone to come near you if you have worn something which has not been washed since the last ten days? Do not wear shabby clothes either. Stop borrowing your dad’s or your room-mate’s clothes for at least one day. Wearing clothes which fit you make you look smart. While dating is more than only looking good you cannot deny the old proverb ‘first impression is the last impression’. So do wear something in which you look smart and more importantly wear something which has been cleaned and pressed before you go on a date.
2. Select a place where both of you are comfortable
When you are going on a date, always do remember that there is someone accompanying you and you are not alone. It sounds silly but trust me, many of us do not take into accord each other’s wishes while selecting the venue for our date. You may want to show off your penthouse but do think if your girlfriend is comfortable over there. The best place to go on a date would be a place both of you have visited before and are acquainted with its surroundings. You do not need to select grand venues. Concentrate on making the occasion big irrespective of the location.
3. Be confident
This is the mot important aspect of a date. By confident I mean confident and not over-confident. Yes there is a difference between the two which many guys fail to notice. While being shy on a date is not desirable, being over-confident is a strict no-no. Its your attitude that impresses women more than your physique. Talk with her but do not boast. This is the difference between being confident and being over confident. You may have come to the date in your Rolls Royce but stop gloating about it. Select topics which are mutually interesting so that you can have a nice conversation.
4. Do not bore your partner
Do not say things which will bore your partner.
You maybe the greatest fan of Manchester United but do understand this is not your guy gang with whom you are hanging out. Things like soccer and cars generally do not interest women and speaking too much about them is sure to bore your girl. Always keep in mind the motive of coming on a date is getting to know each other more. Try asking questions about her life so that you get to know her better.
5. Do not talk about your ‘ex’
Your ex- girlfriend may have been the most beautiful girl in the world but do remember she is your ex. Stop thinking about her to avoid feeling sad and never do bring up the topic of an ex girlfriend while on a date. You want to enjoy the present, don’t you? Talking about your ex will make your present girlfriend feel like she is not good enough for you and that is why you keep talking about your ex. This is certainly the last thing you want to do on a date. Never do anything that makes your girlfriend feel bad. Like I mentioned in the previous point keep in mind the purpose of the date. It is to know more about each other and not to know about someone else who is no more a part of your life.
6. Do not fiddle with your phone
Avoid using your phone while on a date.
When you are on a date it is expected that you leave aside all business commitments for atleast the few hours you spend with your girlfriend. Your other friends, work and social media activity can wait for sometime. When you are on a date if you keep fiddling with your phone then what is the purpose of being on a date? It would be similar to staying back at home and texting with her. Devote the entire time to your partner so that you can cherish the memories forever.
7. Offer to drop her home
Dates are not just about romance. They should also portray how much you care for your partner. Accompanying them back home is a great way to end your date. It not only shows your concern for her but also enables you to spend some more time with her.
8. Get feedback from one of your female friends
No one knows the perfect way to date. Well if your girlfriend storms out in the middle of the date, then it needs no explaining how your date went. Though you may feel your date went perfectly, you can never be too sure that it went similarly well for your girlfriend. Asking your girlfriend about how your date went will show you as a guy lacking confidence. Instead what you can do is explain the details of your date to one of your female friends and get their feedback about it. While this may not be a fool proof method, you can resort to it if you are not feeling too sure about how your date went.
As human beings we are all dynamic. Each one of us is impressed by something different. No one knows your girlfriend better than you. While abiding by these points may improve your date, it is only you who knows how to impress her in the best possible way. So go out and enjoy your date in your unique way.
