5 Things You Didn’t Know About Animation Movies

Animation films like Frozen, Finding Nemo, Despicable Me, Inside Out, and Up may have children as the target audience. But that doesn’t mean you have to be a kid to enjoy them! Here are five facts about some of the best Pixar and Disney movies that is sure to surprise you.

1. Frozen – Let It Go

Let It Go, the much-loved ballad that was stuck in our heads for weeks after this iconic Disney movie hit theatres is coupled with breathtaking visuals of Elsa’s solitary palace in the North Mountain. Did you know that the scene where Elsa walks out onto the balcony took a whopping 132 hours to film? That’s about five and a half days for just one shot!

2. Up – A Lot of Balloons!

This heartwarming story of a grumpy but lovable widower’s journey to a dream destination called Paradise Falls had everybody enamoured. You might have guessed that it took a lot of balloons to get Carl’s little house up in the air. As it turns out, the final count of balloons in the film turned out to be – wait for it – 10,297 balloons!

3. Despicable Me 2 – Do Minions Like Indian Food?

The eccentric yellow characters from the Despicable Me movies became an instant hit with viewers of all ages. In fact, merchandise inspired by the minions sold $267 Million worldwide, making it one of the most profitable Universal Studios films. The minions were especially loved for their gibberish language that is actually a combination of French, English and Spanish. However, many viewers believe that one of the minions says “paneer tikka masala” in a scene from Despicable Me 2. Others claim that it is, in fact, “Poulet tikka masala” which is French for chicken tikka masala. Watch this video and decide for yourself!

4. Tangled – Guest Appearances

Tangled was an international blockbuster animation that featured Flynn and Rapunzel as an adorable duo. It may surprise you to know that the couple appeared in a very brief scene in Disney’s Frozen! During Coronation Day, Anna welcomes scores of people into the kingdom of Arendelle. Flynn and Rapunzel from Tangled are seen walking towards the gates as two people amidst the crowd!

5. Finding Nemo – Saving Nemo

Finding Nemo tells the epic tale of a clownfish’s journey to find his young son, Nemo, who has been captured by divers. People all over the world loved the characters of Nemo and his dad so much that the demand for clownfish as pets soared after the movie’s release. And when hundreds of thousands of children demanded for their own pet Nemo, the wild clownfish population took a major hit due to overfishing. A conservation group called Saving Nemo started a campaign called Million Kisses with the hastag #FISHKISS4NEMO to raise awareness and save this species.
